What we collect, why, and what you can do about it.

What we collect

1. Visit data. We use Google Analytics. It records the pages you view and how long you stay. It also records the kind of device you use and a rough location, about the size of a city. It uses cookies to do this. It does not tell us your name.
2. The contact form. If you write to us, we get your name, your email address and your message. We use them only to reply to you and to fix mistakes on the site.
3. Server logs. Our host, Cloudflare, keeps standard records for security, such as your IP address and the time of a visit.

We do not sell your information. We do not buy lists. We do not run ads.

Cookies

Google Analytics sets cookies. Our contact form does not. You can block cookies in your browser settings, and the site still works without them.

Affiliate links

Some pages may link to Amazon or other companies. If you buy something after clicking, we may earn a small fee. Those companies set their own cookies when you click, and their own privacy policies apply on their sites.

Who else sees your data

• Google, for analytics, and for the email inbox where messages arrive
• Cloudflare, which hosts the site
• Basin, which runs the contact form
• Anthropic, whose tools we use to read and answer messages

Each has its own privacy policy. We do not give your data to anyone else unless the law requires it.

Where your data lives

Our providers store and process data in the United States, and may use other countries too. If you visit from outside the United States, your data may be sent there.

How long we keep it

• Analytics: Google keeps detailed data for no more than 14 months.
• Messages: only as long as we need them to answer you and fix the site. Ask, and we will delete yours.

Your choices

• Ask what information we have about you.
• Ask us to fix it or delete it.
• Block cookies.

Write to [email protected]. We answer these requests within 30 days.

You may have more rights under local law if you live in California, the European Union or the United Kingdom. Write to us and we will help.

Children

This site is for adults looking for work. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you think a child gave us information, write to us and we will delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy, we change the date at the top. Big changes get a note on the home page for 30 days.
